Two Saturdays, September 19th and 26th, with Gayathri Narayanan, 2:30-6:30pm. $100.
This 8-hour Mindful Parenting workshop is designed to introduce parents to the practices of meditation, mindfulness and empathy. These practices allow parents to bring a level of conscious awareness into their interactions with their children. This, in turn, helps them transform their relationship with their children from one of stress, control, manipulation and conflict to one of ease, understanding, connection, love and respect.
Research and experience show that children thrive in such relationships, helping them to grow into confident, secure, empathic and kind leaders and adults of the future.
The workshop will be interactive and will include group and individual activities, group discussions, role-playing exercises, and presentation of mindful parenting tools and concepts. It will offer a safe and supportive environment for parents to explore the practices of empathy and mindfulness. Topics include mindfulness, connecting communication, building emotional literacy, setting and holding limits, recognizing and managing anger, and more.
