Some individuals may find that private yoga sessions are more appealing – even though group yoga classes have grown in popularity over the years. Unlike basic group classes, private sessions are a one on one experience with an instructor. They can be very effective in bringing about improvements to one’s mental and physical health as well as help one achieve personal yoga goals.
Semi-private yoga sessions (two people) are also popular these days helping to cut costs a little while still receiving careful, individualized attention.
Gaining Initial Experience
Beginning yoga students can sometimes feel overwhelmed in typical class settings especially during the first few classes. For beginners, it can seem difficult to keep up with the pace of the class. It can also be challenging because it typically takes practice for personal flexibility to become more fluid. To become more flexible most likely requires some work before it becomes easier and approaching some of the more advanced poses that the rest of the class who have been practicing regularly can already accomplish sometimes can get a new student discouraged. In this instance, to help avoid feeling overwhelmed and uncomfortable – working with a private yoga instructor can facilitate a more effective approach. My speciality is to work with athletes who would like to integrate yoga into their fitness routine. As a runner, I have experience tailoring a yoga practice to make sure my muscles are flexible and stronger. When athletes do a lot of workouts or running, their muscles get very tight and this is where I can help them during this process.
I’m also interested in working with beginners who would like to build a good foundation. Sometimes, people need one-on-one assistance and I’m here to help them.
